Tanit 3rd Open Class in windy 5 Clubs race

Coming in THIRD behind S/Y No Te Nom and S/Y Cabut in the Open Class in the 5 Clubs Regatta at Club Náutico Moraira is an inspiring result after only our first year sailing in the 5 Clubs Regatta series.

We sail on S/Y Tanit, an Oceanis 351 owned by CBYA member Carlos Montes Ramirez.

We started with Amanda, James, Karen, Monique and Eva as permanent crew, and now have a growing flexible group of CBYA sailors.

The 5 Clubs Regatta at Club Náutico Moraira on the 18th October enjoyed good winds, but not the easiest conditions.

Carlos did the start, then Monique helmed. Karen was on the main, with Tania and Grant on the jib sheets.

Our new mainsail made Tanit much more manageable in this wind.

We don’t have the fastest boat, but every race helps us to learn and develop as a team.
