During the CBYA Awards Night Dinner at the A Bordo Resturant on Monday 24th February, we launched a special year-long event to mark fifteen (15) years since the official formation of the COSTA BLANCA YACHT ASOCIATION –  our CRYSTAL JUBILEE!!

During this year we shall be taking a look back at CBYA’s history, and giving thanks to the many people who have made it all possible. We plan to feature a series of monthly articles in our newsletter with interviews honouring key individuals – some of whom are founder members, and some of whom have joined more recently.

Our Crystal Jubilee will be celebrated during many of the events that we hold every year – such as our Annual General Meeting (on 20th May), regattas, raft-ups and many of our social events…

We are also organising an EXCITING 2-DAY EVENT this summer, which will take place on 10th and 11th June, which we hope as many members as possible will attend. All of CBYA’s groups will be invited to participate – thus hopefully uniting the social, cruising, TOMs and dinghy sections.  We will also involve key stakeholders in the event – including local restaurants, canoe rental and other supporting organisations. Please add these dates to your calendar NOW!

We plan to widely publicise our Crystal Jubilee celebrations in the local media in order to attract more boat-owning members, and further strengthen our relationship with the Club Náuticos (especially Real Club Náutico Calpe and Club Náutico Moraira).

So come along and help us celebrate the formation and continued growth of the biggest (and only) VIRTUAL yacht club on the Costa Blanca!
