Monthly social
On the 22nd of October, the CBYA held it’s monthly club dinner at Maxim’s Restaurant in Moraira. The event was attended by 33 members and guests. It was good to see some old faces, and some new ones as well, as there were a number of new members dining with the club for the first time.
Guests were treated to a welcome glass of bubbly, and then after chatting for a bit, we sat down to a 1st class, five-course meal, with bread and alioli, starter, sorbet, main and dessert, all accompanied by red and white wine. The food was, as ever, stunning. The Chairman visited each table to chat with the members, instead of making a speech, as the restaurant had a lot of diners present who were nothing to do with the CBYA. “Here, here” some people would say, as they could then get on with eating and drinking!
Our next event will be at Annisa in Javea on the 18th November, and then after that, our Christmas Party at the Oceana Bar and Restaurant at Les Bassetes on the 14th December. See the CBYA events calendar for full details. Hope to see you all there.
TOMs sailing returned after the summer break
TOMs sailing practice took place on Thursday 31st October, with Allen Bradley as the skipper and instructor. Thank you Allen for acting as skipper.
Our next TOMs event is the TOMs Cup on the 7th Novembers, sponsored by Blevins Franks. This is a regatta followed by a tapas lunch and drinks. 3 boats are entered, but if you haven’t signed up yet, there are still 4 places available. Those that compete will receive a commemorative medal. See the CBYA Events Calendar for details.
