The CBYA competed in the Campomanes 5-Clubs event this weekend. The CBYA entered a team made up of members who have taken part in the Platú 25 training course. The team comprised: Richard Pipkin, Mary McGrath, Allen Bradley and Cornelia and Simon Forster who sailed with an instructor from the Escuela de Vela, Club Nautico de Altea. The CBYA team competed in very testing conditions for such a small boat (a Platú 25 is just 25 feet in length), but managed to complete the course despite the very strong and gusty wind conditions that built up throughout Saturday afternoon. Well done to the team for putting all that training into practice.
Two other boats with CBYA crew also competed: Jeffertje II (with Rachel Graham aboard), which managed a 2nd place finish and MATador II entered by Barry McCrae and Chris de Boer. Well done to all.
The CBYA continues to offer new sailing opportunities to members. If you would like to be considered to compete in this event, please contact the club’s boating officer by clicking HERE to discuss a trial sale and an entry into the 5-Clubs Regattas.
