Paddy and Ian 3rd in the Sports Boat fleet at the 2021 Royal Torbay Regatta.
Paddy invited me to join the crew on his J70 Bewitched over the weekend of 21-22 August 2021 to compete in the sports boat fleet at the Royal Torbay Yacht Club Regatta.
We had an exhilarating weekend finishing 3rd in a tight competition over two days and 6 races.
Pre-discards only one point separated the first 3 boats with John Pollard’s winning boat happy to drop a 9th place (as opposed to Paddy’s 5th place discard) ensuring his position at the top of the leader board.
With 2 of the 4 crew being CBYA members and Paddy’s skipper casting vote we felt entitled to sail with the CBYA pennant flying.
We received a nice piece of Darlington Glass each for our efforts.
