A few members of the CBYA had lunch and drinks together at the Oceana Bar and Restaurant at Les Basetes last Wednesday 11th September. It was a beautiful afternoon with great company in a relaxed location with great views, sumptuous food and wonderful wines.
The food was a stunning selection of fish, vegetarian and meat dishes like the Black Angus and Wagyu Beef Burger, were a feast to the eyes as well as the pallet. Franco and Jody were very welcoming hosts, serving the wine and attending to our every needs.
Unlike some of our other dinners/lunches, a special select menu was created for us, and each diner was able to settle their bill individually, so we did not need to pay for our chosen dishes in advance. This worked out very fair for everyone. However there is a downside to this booking method; quite a few people requested to attend but either cancelled or didn’t show up on the day. It’s worth pointing out that to be considerate to the social team, if you opt to come, then that should be considered a commitment. That said, the small group of people who joined together had a very pleasant afternoon, with great conversation.
It was a great lunch and a splendid venue. Nice to meet some new potential crew members and talk to some of the usual people.
Thanks for organising.
I concur! Good company, stunning location and excellent food. In the words of the late, great Charlie (Wot the) Dickens – “Please sir, Can I have some more?”
Wish I was in Spain so would have been delighted to have had the chance to attend.
Please keep arranging social meetings.
Ron
It was a fabulous afternoon with great company. The food was outstanding
Everything about this venue was delightful. Those who could not attend sadly missed a great afternoon. Don’t despair though we will schedule another lunch and of course we are holding our Christmas party here on 14th December. Don’t let the parking put you off, Franco can reserve spaces for you.
