A Merry CBYA Christmas to all

All of us in the CBYA Committee would like to wish all of you, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Christmas is a time for joy and good will to all, and ’tis the season to be jolly, and we in the Committee are jolly excited about the past 12 months. For a start our membership has increased a lot, so may we  start by saying a special Happy Christmas to all our new members and welcome to our club, and to all our older members, thanks to you all for sticking with us. Our combined membership is now over 400 (445 up from around 319 this time last year). It’s also sad to remember the members that  we’ve lost this year, and who are dearly missed.

Next year the club will have even more to offer: New sailing opportunities and a full social calendar. For example you will be able to achieve a formal sailing qualification through the club next year, participate in the 5 Clubs Regattas, and there will be a club charter holiday to Greece. You will also be able to participate in new social activities such as a Fine Dining Evening, and Pig and Jig Scottish Country Dancing with Hog Roast event, and a number of interesting presentation by some of the members. Socials will also include a visit to the annual  Round the Island Race in Cowes IOW, and getting together to watch the America’s Cup.

Whatever you’re doing this Christmas Day, let’s all raise a glass, and drink a bumper toast to the CBYA, and to all our members. Have a happy holiday, and we look forward to seeing you back on the water next year.

Chairman
