The CBYA held their annual Christmas Party at the A Bordo restaurant in Jávea on Monday 11th December. We started earlier than on previous occasions to allow more time for socialising. With the welcoming drinks and the conversations soon flowing, it was a chance to renew acquaintances with old friends, and to welcome new members into the club.
The meal had all the things you’d expect from a Christmas Party: good food, wine, crackers, party hats, cheesy mottos and noisy conversations. After the sumptuous meal served by the restaurant, the Chairman, John Mackney, gave a speech to the members detailing what the club had achieved in the previous 12 months, and the plans the club has for the coming year. The chairman thanked the Social Team for working so hard in putting together an altogether very successful and enjoyable evening.
A raffle was held, and the fantastic prizes (donated by members and local businesses) raised over 300€, which will be donated to our sponsored charity.
The next event will be on the 15th January 2024, and will be the occasion when we invite our sponsored charity along and present them with a donation from the club. This year we are supporting Make-a-Smile. The next social will be at the restaurant La Bodeguilla in Jávea, so please put a place holder in your diaries
So 2023 is almost done. The club is winding down for Christmas and people are jetting off and driving home to be with their loved ones. The Chairman and Committee wish everyone a very Happy Christmas, and we look forward to seeing you all again in the New Year.
