SIX TOMs Yachts Fleet racing

We also race the TOMs in regular regattas

The CBYA has a special relationship with the Real Club Náutico de Calpe which gives us access to their six, fleet-racing TOMs, at a special discounted rate.

The CBYA runs twice-a-week Sail Training Days on the TOMs – usually on Thursdays and Saturdays. We have several members who are RCNC – CBYA approved skippers, who take out CBYA members who are interested in learning how to sail these exciting boats.

TOMs ladder racing

We run Spring and Autumn TOMs Ladder series each year at Calpe to introduce less-experienced sailors to racing. Typically we race with white sails only (no spinnakers). The ladder results are accumulated over the year to decide the overall winner.

About the boatS

Fast & fun. Large, comfortable self-draining cockpit. Suitable for match, team or fleet racing. Easy to sail. Very stable. Well-balanced rudder and rig. Great for match racing. Quick to rig and de-rig

Non-slip and non-marking sailing shoes, sailing gloves, sun-glasses, water, sun-block, hat, and a change of clothes would be advisable.

Anything of value that you do not need to take with you! Mobile phones, credit cards, driving licence, money, etc. should be left in the car. Car keys can be brought on board in a dry bag.

The CBYA requires all sailors to wear a life jacket, or a buoyancy aid, when sailing on the TOMs. Buoyancy jackets are available for loan at the Real Club Náutico Calpe.

The Real Club Náutico Calpe requires everyone sailing on the TOMs to purchase insurance via a Licensia Federativa. Click HERE for details.

Our members have access to different sailing events every week.
