Altea 5 Clubs – Sunday 20th October

The Altea 5 Clubs was a regatta of two halves for TrickyD. A downwind run to the Calpe fish farm, with TrickyD and her crew enjoying the 20 knot plus winds.

After rounding the fish farm, and sailing close-hauled on our homeward leg, we were hit by 35 knots of wind gusting to 45 knots.  After reefing down, we decided to retire.

On our return, we joined the rest of the crews for a delicious paella at the Club Náutico Altea.

Our friends of the CBYA,  Jeffertje ll (Carl Bal) came in 1st in Class A

Gordi (Gordon Ross ) – 5th in Class C

Blade – CBYA (Barry McCrea ) – Our own CBYA member, was 6th in Class C

Hi Richard, nice of you to do a little write up of the regatta, however I do think you must have been in a different race to us – we saw 26/27 kts, I and know others saw 30 kts but for you to have 35 gusting 45 kts is quite remarkable !! Oh and by the way Gordi was 5th in class. See you for the next one.

The wind really increased later! Probably you were allready back in the harbour then.

It was a 5 Clubs regatta with a difference! Great report thank you skipper. Well done. B
