New CBYA member, Albert Whitley and his wife, Jutta, own a Hallberg Rassy 37 (S/Y Stormy Waters) which is moored at Club Náutico Moraira, where they are long-term members. They are experienced sailors.

They were planning to cruise around the Mediterranean this May, and were looking for crew to join them for some of the legs. It didn’t happen due to the lock-down. However, they now plan to do the cruise early next year. In the meantime, they are preparing for a short cruise to the Balearic Islands next month. Here is their itinerary: –

9th September: Moraira – Formentera / Cala Sahona (or Ibiza/ Sa Vedra )

10th – 12th September: make our way to Portinatx/ Cala Xaraca – either along East Coast via St Eulalia and Isla Tagomago, or along West coast via Cala Gracio

13th September: Portinatx  (quick stop for fresh supplies) – Cabrera Islands (need permit!)

14th and 15h Sept:  Cabrera Islands

16th – 18th September: Palma /Real Club Nautico

18th- 20th Sept: leave Palma – take East coast route via Cala Mondrago – Porto Pedro to Cala Ratjada

21st – 23rd Sept.: North Coast and Puerto Pollensa

OR depending on prevailing wind take West Coast route:

18th -20th Sept.: leave Palma to Formentor via St Elm and Puerto de Soller to Puerto Pollensa

21st – 23rd Sept.: Puerto Pollensa

23rd Sept. Pollensa – Cuidadella, Menorca

24th Sept. – 30th Sept. circumnavigate Menorca incl Fornells and Mahon

30th Sept.: start heading back. Back no later than 9 October

They would welcome some company for part of the cruise. Crew joining/leaving would be more convenient via Palma or Mahon (although via Cuidadella and Fornells are also perfectly possible by bus from Mahon).

If any CBYA member is interested in joining them, they should contact Jutta by clicking HERE, or calling her on 659 339 605
