Many thanks to Rosalind Miranda for providing this information.
The Committee has decided that, due to restrictions on our normal sailing and social activities caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and in order to retain our current membership levels, 2021 CBYA membership renewals that are due early next year will be deferred for five (5) months until 1st June 2021.
New membership applications will be invoiced as normal at the time of application.
In addition, our 2021 AGM will be postponed to Thursday 13th May 2021.
Hopefully by that time, most of us will have had our vaccinations, and the situation will have started to improve.
Merry Christmas and a Safer New Year to all!
This has been a tough year for all of us, but the CBYA has tried hard to keep functioning, and to stay in touch with our membership throughout the year.
One successful initiative was virtual sailing courtesy of the RYA and Virtual Regatta! Click HERE for details.

Hopefully 2021 will see us sailing and socialising again.
Merry Christmas and a Better New Year!
Another lovely Dinghy Day at El Portet…first time on a Wednesday.
As the wind was offshore, the sea was flatish, but the wind was gusting strongly, which once again created conditions for some demanding sailing.
As the afternoon progressed, the sun came out and my bridge was fully occupied with social members of which two walked (one pregnant + 2 small dogs) to the the Pepper Pot Tower (and further) before returning to my bridge. So Dinghy Day has turned into sailing, social and walking!
Our final Crystal Jubilee interview is with our current Chairman, Hugh Epsom….
- Why did you join the CBYA?
We joined the CBYA soon after moving to Jávea in 2011 for two reasons – I enjoy sailing, and we wanted to get settled quickly into the local community. The CBYA allowed us to achieve both, and has brought Gillian and myself many hours of enjoyment!
- What was a memorable first experience of the CBYA?
Sailing with Jonathan Wilson on S/Y Maui in my first 5 Clubs Regatta in 2013 – we got on the podium! RIP Jonathan.
- What were your roles and how did they change over the years?
- TOMs Co-ordinator (2013 – 2015)
- Vice-Chairman (2015 – 2018)
- Chairman (2018 – present)
