CBYA “Chocophiles” Visit Valor
The first special CBYA 2017 social event was a visit to the Valor Chocolate Factory on Monday 30th January arranged by Chris Bell (CBYA Social Secretary). A 22-seater bus picked up our “chocophile” tour participants from the Javea Bus Station, Benitachell and the Calpe Bed Centre, before delivering us to the Valor fabrica in Villajoyosa. Others made their way directly to the factory.
We had arranged to join the English language tour, so after a short wait at the gate, we were taken to the Valor cinema to view an interesting video about the history of chocolate making in Villajoyosa. We then toured the Valor Museum which was again very informative.
Our guide then whisked us through the factory via an overhead enclosed walkway from which we could view all of the machinery and production belts. Not many workers, mostly automated, and very clean and well organised.
Finally we arrived in the shop where we could taste various types of chocolate and make our purchases. Needless to say, quite a lot of chocolate was bought!
The bus then took us down to the Villajoyosa seafront for a view of the colourful (former fisherman) houses, and a swift drink, before returning to the El Drago Restaurant, opposite the Valor factory) for an excellent, albeit slow, lunch.

Another excellent CBYA trip!
