By popular demand the TOM Ladder competition will restart this Autumn.  For those not familiar with the competition, this is a fun series that increases participation, improves sailing and racing skills, encourages all participants to have the opportunity to skipper (not just the approved CBYA skippers), includes all levels of experience, and encourages team work.

The series is based on sailing with white sails only with a minimum crew of 3 in order to maximise the number of boats taking part on the day.  Two series will be run; one in October and a second in November, with two Thursdays and two Saturdays in each month.  Depending on sailing conditions the objective will be to sail three to four short races on each day; a total of up to 16 races per month.  Results for each month will be published and prizes awarded.  The racing will be run by RCNC with a normal windward/ leeward “sausage” course.
The alternate Thursday/ Saturday schedule will allow time for normal training with (or without) spinnakers on the alternate days.  There is no commitment, if you don’t like it, you can drop in or out of the competition at any time.
On each race day the skippers names will be picked at random,  and the remainder added to the crew, who will also be picked at random for each boat.  Beginners will be spread between different  boats.   Each TOM will have an approved CBYA Skipper to bring the boat in and out of port.
Proposed Dates:  4, 13, 18, 27 October.  1, 10, 15, 24 November.
