Great CBYA Charter-Cruise in Croatia

The CBYA ran our first charter-cruise trip during September 2018.

It was a great success – mainly due to the excellent planning and organisation by Tanya & Peter.

We chartered two Bavaria 46 yachts from Trogir, near Split, and spent a week cruising around the Dalmatian Islands. We visited Solta, Hvar, Piklini islands, Korčula, Vis, and Brač.

RIP Tore Naess

We are sad to report that Tore Naess, a long-time CBYA member, and owner of S/Y Magdulena, died on Wednesday 19 September.

Tore’s health took a dramatic downturn in recent weeks.  Investigations discovered prostrate cancer resulting in him starting chemotherapy a few weeks ago, which apparently had a bad effect on him, and he developed serious respiratory problems.  He was airlifted from Denia hospital to Elche where he passed away.

His funeral took place on Tuesday 25th September.

Please join me in expressing our condolences to his family.

Another TOMs Ladder Competition!

By popular demand the TOM Ladder competition will restart this Autumn.  For those not familiar with the competition, this is a fun series that increases participation, improves sailing and racing skills, encourages all participants to have the opportunity to skipper (not just the approved CBYA skippers), includes all levels of experience, and encourages team work.
