Yacht Racing is Fun!

5 Clubs & Rumbo Solidario Regatta

21 & 22 May 2016

The Rumbo Solidario is always a great event. It is organised by the Real Club Náutico de Calpe (RCNC) and is combined with a 5 Clubs Regatta, making it a two day event. The entry fee for the Rumbo is only €40 per yacht, and the money raised goes to a deserving Calpe-based charity.

This year five CBYA –member crewed yachts participated in the 5 Clubs Regatta – namely Blade, Tricky D, and three TOM 28’s. Only Blade & one TOM sailed on the second day of the event. A number of CBYA members also crewed on other non-CBYA member owned yachts.

A Typical Raft Up Scene

May 2016, some CBYA Boats enjoying the sun, at an early impromptu friendly ‘Raft Up’ in Sardine Bay.

Originally having planned to raft-up near the CN Javea Marina, but it was a bit choppy with the southerly breeze, so they headed for the calm of Sardine Bay. Rosie and Paul braved the chilly water, whilst the rest consumed copious amounts of food and vino Collapso.
