Installation and Use of Maritime Radio Equipment

When you are sailing under your “home flag” in Spanish waters, the installation and use of maritime radio equipment is covered by the laws and regulations of you home country. You only need to have the appropriate documents ready to show to Spanish authorities if requested. However, when sailing a Spanish registered boat in Spanish waters you have to respect and follow the Spanish laws and regulations concerning installation and use of maritime radio equipment. The following requirements apply exclusively to pleasure boats for private use, without professional crew.

Jim’s Bash – March 2016 – TOMs Challenge

Following Jim Mack’s previous TOMs challenge in 2014, he invited a number of his UK sailing colleagues to once again sample the delights of sailing the TOMs. A number of CBYA colleagues were also invited to join the event for a team challenge. Teams were named after performance dinghies i.e. Cherubs and Ospreys, with each team consisting of 3 crews. Crews were mixed combining Jim’s UK colleagues and TOMs sailors living in Spain. read more →
