Roger Burston - Our friend and sailing companion
15.04.1945 to 19.08.2011
It is with great sadness that the Costa Blanca Yacht Association announce the death of Roger Burston, who died at his home on Friday 19th August 2011.
Roger and his wife Yvonne had been members of the CBYA since February 2010. Roger loved sailing all of his life, right from his early days when he joined the sea scouts. He went on to become a sailing instructor on small boats. He had a great love for the RNLI and during the years 2002 till 2005 he was chairman of the RNLI in the Cornish town of Camborne. Soon after joining the club Roger took part in many regattas to the islands. Roger affectionately known as "Roger the cabin boy" was a kind man who never criticized, condemned or complained. He was just a really nice guy.
We extend our sympathy to Yvonne and his family.

Roy Turner
It is with great sadness that The Costa Blanca Yacht Association announce the death of Roy Turner, who died peacefully on Sunday morning, 17th January 2010.
He was a Member of the CBYA for 6 years from 2003 to 2008, during which time he attended many of our events both Social and Sailing, and was well known and liked across the Membership. In the earlier years he enjoyed attending the monthly Sunday Sailing Meets at bays in and around the Marina Alta, but more recently he was unable to participate to the same extent because of respiratory problems.
We will remember him for his dry wit, sense of humour and his tenacity in the face of deteriorating health.
We extend our sympathy to Elaine and his family.
With condolences
The Committee and all Members of the CBYA
